Rep. Jim Riesberg, D-Greeley, said on the Colorado House floor today that his property taxes are too low and asked, "What tax increase?" during debate over Gov. Bill Ritter's proposal to increase property-tax bills statewide.

Full text of Reisberg's comments:

“Thank you Mr. Chairman. Representative Lundberg, you and I need to meet. My property taxes are too low. In the 21 years that we’ve owned our home, last month when I paid the property taxes they were the lowest that they’ve been in 21 years. And if this amendment is defeated, they will go down another $24 next year. What tax increase?”
