Rep. Balmer's bill to keep sex offenders away from children Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 February 2007

Last year, the General Assembly killed a bill that would have helped put many parents at ease. The bill would have made it illegal for a registered child sex offender to live or work within 1,500 feet of a school, day care center, playground, or anywhere else likely to contain children.

This year, Representative David Balmer is continuing the effort. He has introduced legislation to do the same thing, at a range of 1,000 feet.
