Senator Mitchell's bill to fight Medicaid fraud |

Before we consider any expansion of our state’s budget-straining Medicaid program, it is important we find out just how accountable the program is with the money it already spends. Senator Shawn Mitchell introduced a bill for a top-to-bottom, annual Medicaid audit – arguably, the most comprehensive ever. We need to stop those who abuse the system, and prevent them from sticking taxpayers and working families with the bill. Unfortunately, the bill has been killed on a strict, party-line vote in committee.
