Fort Carson police officers are one step closer to becoming designated peace officers in Colorado after a bill cleared its first hurdle in the state Senate Wednesday.
SB5, sponsored by Sen. Kevin Grantham, R-Canon City, would allow Peace Officer Standards and Training-certified officers from Fort Carson to work within the same authority as other police officers.
