Yesterday, the Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 49 which exempts motorists from using turn signals when driving in roundabouts. Existing law requires that drivers signal at least 100 feet before making a turn.
“Current law makes it impractical to use a turn signal when driving in a roundabout,” stated bill sponsor Senator Kevin Lundberg (R-Berthoud). “This bill will allow motorists to drive in a roundabout without worrying whether they disobeyed traffic laws and ensures they keep the focus on the road.”
The bill now goes to the House for consideration.
