Yesterday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted down Senator Kent Lambert’s bill (R-Colorado Springs) in a party line vote that encourage businesses to provide security on their premises if they prohibit patrons from carrying weapons for their own defense.
“This bill is a common sense bill that acts as a defense against criminals’ intent on killing innocent people in gun-free zones,” Lambert said. “If a business wants to unilaterally disarm their customers from carrying a personal defense weapon and they provide no security for their customers, then they should be more liable for assaults and killing that may take place.”
